Classes are designed to be interchangeable for both online and in-person
In this series of acting, singing, and dancing classes for kids in Westchester, NY we introduce them both individually and as a group to expressing themselves vocally, dramatically and through movement, with the goal of building confidence. Students will work on a specially designed play for each age group, challenging them as they grow. All plays include a solo song, scripted lines, group song, and a choreographed dance, culminating in a fabulous performance for family and friends.
Geared toward serious-minded students who are ready to take their singing and acting techniques to the next level. The Advanced program for 4-6th and 6-9th grades will work individually with a singing teacher and an accompanist learning vocal technique and the art of telling a story through the song. Each student will dive into developing their acting skills and breaking down characters with longer scenes/monologues with memorization required. Students will also get creative and think on their feet with fun and challenging improvisation games. The emphasis of this class is on learning essential skills for performances in local or professional theater. It's like having a private lesson within a group setting. As they get older, the material they work on will become more challenging and continue to strengthen their skills.
This inspiring program of acting and singing classes culminates in an intimate showcase for family and friends known as Cabaret Nite. Each student performs a full song as well as a scene or monologue.
Our students will work with a vocal teacher to choose from our vast collection of songs across all genres for one that suits them best. All students will get specific one-on-one training in voice technique emphasizing the importance of breath control, body alignment, the various spaces in the mouth, and proper palate and tongue placement.
Through in-depth character preparation using exercises and improvisation that will help them explore their inner selves, the students learn how to break down their scenes or monologues in terms of character and emotions. Next, they learn to connect their words to those emotions — the mark of a good actor. By encouraging them to make personalized acting choices, the confidence they gain in how to approach dramatic material goes a long way toward elevating their approach to acting technique and stage presence.
We offer all of our in person classes online! All online classes are taught on Zoom and follow a similar format to our in person classes taking advantage of Breakout Rooms so we can continue to meet in small groups and work individually with each student. In addition, each class creates a fun video montage shown during the showcase on the last day of class.
If your children love to perform and you want to keep them busy after school ends but before summer camp begins, Star Kidz Pre-K camp is the place to be!
Each session includes fun, creative acting games, singing pop, Broadway, and Disney classics, creative movement, and arts and crafts. As with all Star Kidz classes, campers will work both individually and as part of a group. On the last day, campers will perform what they've learned for family and friends.

Our focus is on creativity and imagination with different games, acting exercises and singing opportunities each week. It is perfect not only for the current student who wants to continue on with Star Kidz before summer vacation begins, but also the new student who would like to give the program a try for the first time.
